How to change the size and shape of a spreadsheet window, so that an image can be viewed 'behind' it

Step 1
When you open the spreadsheet, click on the middle of the 3 boxes in the top right hand corner and . . .

Step 2
. . .  it should change to this.

On some occasions, it might look like this when the spreadsheet is first opened, in which case ignore Step 1 and move on to Step 3
Step 3
Move your cursor to one of the 'edges' of the spreadsheet window, until it (the cursor) changes from its usual shape (often a white arrow) to a double-headed arrow.
Step 4
Holding down the mouse button, drag and re-size the window edge until it fits your needs. Experiment, it's unlikely that you'll 'break' anything.

The same can be done to any of the 4 'edges'.

Step 5
If you close down the spreadsheet while it's your chosen size, it should remember the setting for when you next re-open it.

If it doesn't, then go through Steps 1 to 4 again.

When you need the spreadsheet to fill the whole window, then just click the square indicated in Step 2 and it should revert to that of Step 1 and the spreadsheet should be full-size once again.

N.B.  If you accidentally click on the 3rd button from the right, this will minimise the window and you should find it in the tool bar at the very bottom of your screen.
